The afro-pop song is an upbeat inspirational song recorded by D’Unicorns – a group of LGBTIQ+-led Nigerian musicians whose aim is to “use music as a source of therapy and a tool for advocacy for the queer liberation movement in Nigeria and across West Africa.”

The song highlights the struggles that come with surviving as an LGBTIQ+ person and encourages LGBTIQ+ people, especially in Africa, to remain resilient.

The song was produced by LIFFE Music – a recently launched social enterprise initiative by Levites Initiative for Freedom & Enlightenment (LIFFE) as part of its mission to provide a platform for queer Nigerian musicians to pursue their music careers.

Last year, the organization launched Queer Voice Nigeria, a music talent hunt through which three artists were selected, groomed, and supported to release their debut singles under its music label.
